Born in the sunny city of San Diego, California, but raised in the lively border town of Tijuana, Mexico, Jose grew up in a culturally diverse environment and developed a deep appreciation for the fusion of cultures and languages that defined his surroundings.
He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside. During this time, he started his involvement with SHPE at UCR, discovering his passion of outreach he went and became President and created the SHPE Jr. Chapter. Today, Jose Figueroa is a Technical Advisor at the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas). In this role, he plays a pivotal part in supporting construction projects by providing expert guidance on coated materials and the evaluation of engineered materials. Jose's career is defined by his dedication to being an innovator and a continuous learner. He thrives on the challenges that come with his work and places a high value on ever-evolving expertise. Jose is passionate about technology advancement and informatics which has helped him keep up to date and gain insights to solve complex problems. In his free time, he enjoys tackling DIY projects, repairing equipment, and exploring new technologies. |
