Luis Ruiz, a true Angeleno, grew up in South Central Los Angeles and graduated from Granada Hills High School before attending Santa Monica College as a Computer Science Major.
As he progressed in college, Luis transferred to Long Beach State University to major in chemical and engineering and obtained his bachelor’s degree in 2020. As a child, Luis was good with math and was curious about how things worked. His interest in STEM further developed by following role models such as Bill Nye, Steve Irwin, Bob Ross, and Kobe Bryant. Luis is now a professional working at KCE Matrix in Burbank, CA. He works as an environmental engineer for a company that provides civil, structural, and environmental consulting services. Luis is the eldest of three and is proud of his Mexican Heritage where both his parents are from. He resides in Los Angeles and in his spare time enjoys weightlifting, hiking, programming, and giving back to his community. |
