If you have visited the SHPE National website recently you would have found our key values under the About SHPE page. These values include the following:

• Familia: We take responsibility for our collective strength and passion by developing communities, building a diverse and inclusive membership, and challenging each other to be our best.
• Service: We act on a foundation of service. We commit to deliver the highest levels of quality, integrity, and ethical behavior. We act with empathy, patience, and understanding.
• Learning: We value formal education and professional development. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and renewal. We learn from successes, setbacks, and each other.
• Resilience: We embrace our diverse cultures and communities, which enable us to adapt, thrive, and persist with optimism.

By connecting the dots, the best way to build our Familia is through service. A lot of our members serve their communities by providing professional workshops, leadership workshops, and tech talks among other services, to local SHPE undergraduate chapters, SHPE Jr. chapters, K-12 schools, etc. Outreach activities are performed through SHPE connections, employers, or through other organizations such as GMiS, MAES, and many of our other non-profit supporters, which can be found on the About Us page. Regardless of how, we would like to encourage all our members to continue their great work, and share with us these efforts. This will allow us to reflect the actual efforts that our membership is a part of, in the National Reporting Program (NRP), as well as highlight and thank members who give selflessly to others. 

Therefore, we have created a simple and quick Google Form where you can log in your volunteer hours. Whether you are volunteering your time at a SHPE event with one of our committees, doing STEM outreach through your company or a non-profit, or volunteering at any other STEM-related effort, we ask that you please spend the extra 5 minutes to log in your hours.
