We are looking for mentors to be paired with a student from SHPE LA's Ponte Las Pilas program. Students are fully funded to attend the SHPE national convention in Indianapolis, IN from October 28-31 with the goal of obtaining their first internship or job opportunity. But we need to send them prepared. That's where our Mentors come in. In the months of September, mentors will assist in the evaluation of scholarship applications. In October, scholars will be paired with mentors for 2-3 virtual mentoring sessions and one in-person mentoring session on October 16th. SHPE LA will provide worksheets, ice breakers, and goal gates for these sessions to provide guidance and structure but to leave the overall mentoring relationship to the mentors.
